Eliminated during the group stage, Astralis didn't experienced the ESL One New York scene. With Andreas "Xyp9x" Højsleth, we went back on this tournament but also on the DreamHack Malmö which had also been synonymous with early elimination. We also talk about upcoming events in Denmark and their possible influences.

Before talking about the ESL One New York, can we talk again about the DreamHack Malmö? You had a pretty good start but you lost in quarterfinal against Gambit, can you talk about how did it go?

We lost to them at the PGL Major as well in semifinal. I think they are a great team and I think they play really well in both matches we lost to them. When we face them, we are face a team which is individually very skilled. They use ordinary things, not tactically wise but they are really good individually and very good at taking decisions by themselves. I think it's a playstyle we need to adapt to because there are also other teams like them that we have problems facing. It's something we're working on, we also have to work on other stuff now that we bombed out in the group stage here in New York, I think there is a lot to work on and we need to work hard.

Let's talk about the ESL One New York, you played against FaZe and you lost like 16-6, do you have any thoughts on this game?

I think that FaZe didn't particularly play that well, I think it was more us playing really bad. Of course they played great, a scoreline like that doesn't come by itself. We weren't in the game from the start and we had a really though side, I think we were behind 8-1 or something and they were T-side, on Inferno you don't want to have that. We didn't really get started, the most important thing was that we were lacking a little bit of communication and teamwork. And Niko was also playing good in that match where he clutched some situations and stuff. Not much to say about the match, it's a Best of 1 and things can happen. I'm more looking at Liquid in a Best of 3 as a problem.

Recent offline results have been disappointing

Talking about this game against Team Liquid, it was a pretty tight game, it was a Best of 3, there was one overtime, I guess it was the second map, the others were also pretty tight, ca you tell us what happened?

All three maps were really close. What made the difference was that Team Liquid, right now, is on a hot streak, they're are playing really good and we're not really performing our best. We are lacking some individual firepower. We have a lot to work on and that's what we're gonna do now, we have ELEAGUE coming up next, our group stage where we will also face Liquid in the first match. That's also a Best of 1 I guess so everything can happen, we just need to prepare for that match and we need to figure out our mistakes from this tournament.

I was talking with Team EnVyUs right before you and they told me there was an outage at their hotel so they cannot practice. Is that the case for you as well?

Yeah I think there is no Internet right now.

You won't be able to practice the ELEAGUE right?

We're going home, to Denmark. We are in the group D so...

You're right, it's not next week. Let's talk about Denmark, there is the BLAST Pro Series and the Finals of the ESL Pro League there before the end of the year. What does it mean to you? Does it give you more motivation or you're just happy about esports and the CS:GO scene in Denmark in general?

It gives me a lot of motivation when tournaments come to your home country. It matters a lot and it matters for me to say to my family, friends, whoever is watching: 'Look at this. This is how big it is'. It's also for the homefans we have. I think it's generally good for Denmark, we were missing a really good event in Denmark, we haven't had one in so long. I'm really excited to play, BLAST Pro we know we're going to, we don't know if we're going to ESL Pro League yet. But yeah I'm looking very much forward to the events. I think it will do really wonders for the Danish community.
